SipAndPaintParties@gmail.com When cabin fever sets in, head for a painting-class-in-a-winery where a laid-back artist will have you finishing your own work-of-art in just two and-a-half hours - especially after some fine wines and party food.
This Suttons Bay-owned company, Art on-the-Rocks, is part of an expanding nationwide events trend known as sip-and-paint parties.
Sip-and-paint parties are for everyone who has fantasized about easel painting and loves wine tasting but may not have the time or interest to commit to formal painting classes. It's an artsy activity for women's clubs and retirement communities, hip enough for a couple's night out, or a facilitative way to team build at your workplace (sip-and-paint assumes more dignity at corporate events!)
The Ladies Night Out version is perfect for bachelorette parties!
Art on-the-Rocks is essentially a traveling events business. By arrangement we deliver easels, paints, brushes, aprons, stools, and canvasses to wineries, pubs, and restaurants - as well as to club rooms, halls, offices, senior centers, and other places where BYOB or alcohol-free may be de rigueur.
While hanging out with fun people, Art on-the-Rocks participants can plan to complete their painting in under 3 hours with unstructured breaks anytime you like for wine and finger food. An Art on-the-Rocks event resembles happy hour, not school.
We provide a qualified art teacher, party food, and all supplies - and the venue offers up the beverages unless it's BYOB - so you just reserve a spot and show up and the event takes on a life of its own.
No artistic skills are required to express your inner Grandma Moses or Picasso. Using a designated painting as the event's subject, we'll lead you every step of the way.
A 10-person minimum and a 20-person maximum applies.
"Tuition" is $30 per student with group discounts available. Drinks are extra, food is included.
